Title: County Socio-Demographic-Economic Profiles

Project Description: In today’s fast paced world, economic developers, city planners and industry executives must be able to evaluate the socio-economic characteristics of their counties within a mere glance.  When our staff decided to create a comprehensive database of socio-economic variables, we immediately consulted with Southern Rural Development Center at Mississippi State University’s main campus in Starkville, Mississippi.  With superior data expertise in the thirteen southern states, SRDC is one of four regional centers funded by the Unites States Department of Agriculture.  

Objectives: The primary goal of this project was to create demographic and socio-economic county profiles that would allow county/parish officials to effectively evaluate their communities' needs.
